At Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School, part of The Goldfinch Trust, we work together to provide Exceptional Educational Experiences for children and young people with mental and physical health needs. Our vision is for every child and young person, with their individual needs, to thrive as a curious learner. Our mission, vision and values provide a shared framework for how we work across the Trust and reflect the principles agreed following consultation across our three settings.
Mission Vision Values Document
We exist to work together to provide Exceptional Educational Experiences for children and young people with mental and physical health needs. We deliver an ambitious, creative and agile curriculum underpinned by care, meeting every pupil where they are to ensure meaningful impact.
Working together is fundamental to this mission. Our approach brings together learners, families, staff, clinicians and other professionals, recognising the importance of strong partnerships around each child and young person.
Our curriculum is ambitious, creative and agile because our learners have individual needs and circumstances. Meeting every pupil where they are means responding to those needs with care while maintaining high expectations and focusing on meaningful educational impact.
Our vision is for every child and young person, with their individual needs, to thrive as a curious learner.
We recognise that every learner is different. Our approach starts with the individual, their needs and their potential. We aim to create educational experiences that support curiosity, recognise achievement in all its forms and enable learners to thrive.
Our vision is supported by an approach that combines ambition with care. We maintain high expectations, adapt and find solutions where needed, and work in partnership with the people around each learner. Together, these principles shape how we support children and young people across the Trust.
Our values inform our decision making, shape our culture and define how we work day to day:
These values run through how we work across the Trust, including our strategy, curriculum, leadership and decision making. They provide a shared foundation for how we support learners, work with families and professionals, and develop our schools.
Sustainability is embedded throughout our work rather than standing as a separate value. It applies across strategy, curriculum, estates, procurement and decision making, ensuring it remains a visible and practical part of how the Trust develops over time.
